Our Projects

Cariboo Low Carbon Fuel Ltd. is advancing plans to build, own and operate an integrated low carbon fuel complex that includes a natural gas to liquids and a hydrogen production facility in the interior region of British Columbia as well as a similar facility in the southern region of Saskatchewan. The feedstock for the Projects will be natural gas, sourced from existing infrastructure in the respective provinces. 

The conversion of natural gas into petroleum products is proposed utilizing advanced Fischer-Tropsch technology, integrated with Methanol to Gasoline (MtG) technology to produce ultra-low-sulphur (“ULS”) diesel, jet fuel and unleaded gasoline products. Production from the British Columbia facilities are expected to be transported primarily via existing infrastructure systems to markets in the lower mainland/Vancouver and via road/rail transport in Saskatchewan. Both Projects are located in proximity to or adjacent the national railway systems, Canadian Pacific Railway and Canadian National Railway. A clear benefit to producing fuel products (diesel, jet fuel, gasoline) from natural gas, versus crude oil, is a blending or replacement product with a significantly lower carbon intensity, devoid of sulphur thereby reducing GHG emissions.

Transitioning to Cleaner Fuels is a distinct benefit both Projects offer therefore; supporting the emission reduction targets/mandates in the Provinces of British Columbia and Saskatchewan while contributing to National commitments.

The Developing Global Hydrogen Economy supports Cariboo’s Corporate Vision and the shift towards clean, renewable transportation fuels. The Projects will include the manufacture and supply of hydrogen. Clean Hydrogen (Blue to enable Green) for Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (“FCEV”), stationary Fuel Cell power development for grid stabilization and generation, for injection and decarbonization of the provincial natural gas transmission systems, new opportunities to fuel industrial/residential developments and through further integrated and circular processing producing Renewable Methanol and Ammonia/Urea for regional agriculture support and/or first mover export opportunities to global markets. A material advantage of the British Columbia Project is its strategic location, where all highway and rail infrastructure, leading to west coast shipping terminals for Canadian deliveries, traverse the Project location. Similarly, the Saskatchewan Project is also located along the national transportation corridor.
